Based on your different requirements, there are two ways to monitor your solar system by installing our Bi-directional Wi-Fi energy meter.
Monitor two-way energy flow (energy consumed "from grid" and exported "to grid") by installing a single-phase Wi-Fi energy meter (WEM3080);
Monitor the entire energy flow (energy consumed "from grid", exported "to grid" and the energy produced by solar system) by installing a three-phase Wi-Fi energy meter (WEM3080T)
1. Monitor Two-way Energy Flow
Monitor "From Grid" and "To Grid" energy by installing a bi-directional single-phase Wi-Fi energy meter (WEM3080). The below picture shows the wiring diagram. You can refer to WEM3080 quickstart (https://www.iammeter.com/doc/iammeter/monitoring-quickstart-wem3080.html
) for how to install and setup the meter.
You can see the data graph of "From Grid" and "To Grid" Energy by day, week and month.
2. Monitor the Entire Energy Flow
By installing a bi-directional three-phase Wi-Fi energy meter(WEM3080T) in your single phase solar system, and clamping the first CT onto grid, the second CT onto solar inverter side and the third CT onto load if applicable (you can also leave the third CT unclamped if not needed), you can monitor the energy produced by solar system, "From Grid" (the energy consumed from the grid), "To Grid" (the energy imported to the grid). The system tells how much electricity you are producing, consuming from solar or the grid, and feeding into the grid. You can also track exactly how much of your home is powered by your solar system (Direct Self-use).
